Silk screen printing

Screen printing is a printing technique that is often used for promotional products such as t-shirts, caps, bags, mugs, etc. It is quite a popular printing method due to its durability, high quality and ability to print on different types of materials. The screen printing process includes the following steps:

Preparation of the template: First, the template or design that you want to print on the product is prepared. This design is transferred to a transparent film or mesh called screen printing mesh or screen.

Sieve preparation: The sieve consists of a frame, usually made of wood or aluminum, covered with a special light-sensitive layer. An emulsion is then applied to this layer. When the emulsion is dry, a template is placed on it and the entire screen is illuminated with light.

Product preparation: While the screen is drying, the product on which we want to print the design is prepared. This may include preparation of the surface of the product by degreasing or other processes depending on the material.

Printing: When the screen is ready, it is placed on top of the product on which we want to print the design. The paint is then applied to the top of the screen, which is pushed through the screen with the help of a squeegee so that the paint penetrates through the openings in the template and is transferred to the product.

Drying: After printing, the product is placed on a drying surface where the paint dries. Drying time may vary depending on the paint and material used, but it is important that the paint dries completely.

Finishing: After drying, the product is checked and any final repairs or processing is done. This may include removing excess paint, ironing or other processes that ensure the quality and durability of the print.
